Make sure you include all the email addresses that you want on the
distribution list! Just because you were on last year¹s list, does not mean
you will be automatically added to this list. You must have your email
address on the NDA (or let me know via email if you have already turned in
your NDA without the appropriate emails on it).

NDA Deadline is August 18 DUE NEXT WEEK

Registration is available online now but please hold off on filling that out
until we update it with any new questions as discussed on today¹s call.

2. PHY combinations

David W. had circulated questions around this, pertaining to the triplet
tests, and got a lot of feedback and input as to the combinations. This will
be revised and added to the registration form.

Host / expander companies to check internally on whether there is interest
for performing multiplexing test cases.
Repeat each test configuration 5 times.
Need to agree if it is a soft reset or hard reset between test runs.
One of the goals is to work with different cable lengths, not just one cable
length. That will be a lot of combinations in a short period of time.
*********************************************************

Possible PHY configurations to be tested during the plugfest:

   SNW-1 based 1.5 Gbps (i.e. legacy 1.5 Gbps)

   SNW-2 based 3 Gbps (i.e. legacy 3 Gbps)
SNW-2 based 3 Gbps (i.e. legacy 3 Gbps) with multiplexing

   SNW-3 based 1.5 Gbps no SSC tx/rx
   SNW-3 based 3 Gbps no SSC tx/rx
SNW-3 based 3 Gbps no SSC tx/rx with multiplexing
   SNW-3 based 6 Gbps no SSC tx/rx
SNW-3 based 6 Gbps no SSC tx/rx with multiplexing
SNW-3 based 1.5 Gbps with SSC tx/rx down spreading
SNW-3 based 1.5 Gbps with SSC tx/rx center spreading
SNW-3 based 3 Gbps with SSC tx/rx down spreading
SNW-3 based 3 Gbps with SSC tx/rx center spreading
SNW-3 based 3 Gbps with SSC tx/rx with multiplexing down spreading
SNW-3 based 3 Gbps with SSC tx/rx with multiplexing center spreading
SNW-3 based 6 Gbps with SSC tx/rx down spreading
SNW-3 based 6 Gbps with SSC tx/rx center spreading
SNW-3 based 6 Gbps with SSC tx/rx with multiplexing down spreading
SNW-3 based 6 Gbps with SSC tx/rx with multiplexing center spreading

SATA 1.5 Gbps no SSC tx
SATA 3 Gbps no SSC tx
SATA 6 Gbps no SSC tx
SATA 1.5 Gbps with SSC tx
SATA 3 Gbps with SSC tx
SATA 6 Gbps with SSC tx

- Host/Expander companies to check internally on whether there is interest
for performing multiplexing test cases.

- suggest repeating each test configuration 5 times, run for 30 seconds to
1 minute, to verify repeatability/reliability.

- Need to agree on what sort of reset should be performed 'between' test
runs. (HARD RESET primitve, soft reset on the phy, or manual disconnect).

- discussion indicated support for using manual cable disconnect to cause
reset between host and exander, and drive power cycle to cause reset
between drive and expander.

- This would require that the host/expander side is prepared to dictate
the phy configuration, since the drive would lose the phy configuration
after a power reset.(no firmware resources needed, ensures all test pairs
use the same reset method).

- encourage using a default pre-emp (3dB) and ampl setting along with a
'intermediate' cable length?

- Zoning Command support to be covered in registration:
DISCOVER
REPORT GENERAL
DISCOVER LIST
REPORT ZONE PERMISSION TABLE
ZONED BROADBCAST
ENABLE DISABLE ZONING

- default Zoning password for the device should be asked in registration

- still need to address interest in cable assemblies (connector type,
lengths, and active).

3. Registration form
There were some suggestions with regards to zoning.
We will need the default zoning password in the registration form.
We need testing with active cables. (Gourgen then went through the active
cables list).
